Here, we’ll explore the city’s historical heart, visiting the impressive Hassan Tower, the serene Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the charming Kasbah of the Udayas with its lovely Andalusian gardens. After free time for lunch, our adventure continues north. As the road begins to wind into the beautiful Rif Mountains, you’ll feel the energy shift, and soon you’ll catch the magical first glimpse of Chefchaouen.
Seeing its blue-washed buildings appear, nestled against the mountainside, is a moment you won’t forget. We’ll escort you to your charming riad to settle in and soak up the unique atmosphere.
Wake up and enjoy a final morning in the Blue Pearl’s tranquil embrace, free to wander its peaceful, photogenic alleyways one last time. We then depart towards the imperial heartland of Morocco.
Our first stop will transport you back in time at the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a wonderfully preserved UNESCO World Heritage site. Next, we journey to the nearby city of Meknes, the powerful Ismaili capital.
We’ll uncover its formidable legacy by visiting the monumental Bab Al-Mansour gate, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. As the afternoon light softens, we will arrive in Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural soul, where your authentic riad awaits for the next two nights.
Today, we delve deep into the very soul of Morocco with a full guided tour of Fes. After breakfast, you will meet a fantastic local guide who will lead you into the labyrinthine world of Fes el-Bali, the city’s ancient UNESCO-listed medina. This is not a museum; it’s a living, breathing sensory tapestry, and your guide will help you navigate its vibrant souks and hidden historical gems. Today marks our much-anticipated departure for the Sahara Desert. We journey south, climbing through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains to Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Our adventure continues to the ancient Cedars Forest, where you can meet the playful Barbary Macaques.
After a lunch stop in Midelt, we’ll cross the High Atlas and descend towards the Ziz Valley, a dramatic gateway to the desert where a stunning river of palm groves stretches for miles. As the landscape transforms into windswept plains, the golden dunes of Merzouga will rise before you.
Here, you will trade your vehicle for a camel, embarking on a peaceful trek into the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes to reach your luxury desert camp for an unforgettable night of traditional food, Berber music, and stargazing.
There is nothing quite like a Sahara sunrise, and we encourage you to wake early to watch the colors wash over the silent dunes. After breakfast in the camp, you will return by camel to Merzouga.
Our journey continues to the historic town of Rissani to explore its authentic local souk, a vibrant hub of regional trade. From there, we travel to Erfoud to see the fascinating fossil workshops, then pass through lush palm groves to the magnificent Todra Gorges. After lunch, we proceed to the enchanting Dades Valley, stopping to admire the unique “monkey fingers” rock formations and for a panoramic view over the winding valley below before settling into your hotel for the night.

We’ll pass through the Roses Valley, the serene Skoura palm groves, and on to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa.” The day’s ultimate highlight is our visit to the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a spectacular fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage site.
You’ll recognize it from films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones as you walk its ancient mud-brick alleyways. From here, we begin our dramatic ascent over the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi-N-Tichka Pass (2260m). The views are breathtaking. As we descend, the landscape softens, and we arrive in the vibrant Red City of Marrakech, where you will check into your beautiful riad.
Today is entirely dedicated to the captivating ‘Red City.’ After breakfast, you will meet your expert local guide for a tour of Marrakech’s most famous highlights. Your journey will take you from the intricate beauty of the Bahia Palace and the historic Saadian Tombs to the famous Koutoubia Mosque and the tranquil blues of the Majorelle Garden.
You’ll get lost in the bustling alleyways of the largest traditional souk in Morocco, soaking in the sights, sounds, and scents, before enjoying free time for lunch near the world-famous Djemaa el-Fna square. On the final morning of your grand tour, enjoy a last Moroccan breakfast. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for last-minute souvenir shopping in the Marrakech souks. At the appropriate time, we will provide a comfortable and timely private transfer north to Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) for your departure. Yes, this tour is wonderfully suited for a wide range of travelers. We’ve hosted families with young children and more senior guests with great success. Because the tour is private, we can adjust the pace. The driving days are broken up with plenty of interesting stops. The only consideration is the camel ride, which is optional; anyone who prefers not to ride a camel can be driven directly to the camp in our 4×4 vehicle.
The camel trek from the edge of the dunes to our camp takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes. It’s timed perfectly to coincide with the setting sun, creating the most magical experience possible. The ride is gentle and suitable for most people. For the return journey in the morning, you can choose to ride the camel again or take our 4×4 vehicle back from the camp.
Yes, you can. While our standard camp is already very comfortable, clean, and beautiful, with private tents and proper beds, we do offer an upgrade to an ultra-luxury camp. These camps feature larger, more opulent tents with private en-suite bathrooms, hot showers, and more elaborate furnishings.
