Let’s be honest, covering the distance from Fes to Marrakech via the desert in two days is a huge undertaking. What made this trip not just possible, but truly enjoyable, was the sheer professionalism of True Morocco Travel. Our driver and guide, Omar, was a master. He was an incredibly safe and skilled driver, and his modern, comfortable 4×4 made the long hours on the road a breeze. He knew exactly where to stop for the best photos, the cleanest restrooms, and a great local spot for lunch in Midelt. The logistics were flawless—from the prompt pickup in Fes to the well-organized camel trek and the seamless drop-off right at our riad’s door in Marrakech. They take a potentially stressful transfer and transform it into the highlight of your trip. We just sat back and soaked in the ever-changing, spectacular Moroccan scenery. We are so impressed and grateful.
As a solo female traveler, I was a bit hesitant about a quick desert tour, but I couldn’t have been in better hands. My guide, Hassan, was professional, respectful, and made me feel completely comfortable from the moment he picked me up in Fes. The tour itself packs in so many incredible moments. I’ll never forget the feeling of peace as my camel, Jimi Hendrix, walked across the silent, golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. The sunset was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. The camp was great, the food was delicious, and sitting around the fire listening to Berber music under a sky full of stars was just surreal. It’s a fast-paced trip, but it captures the absolute essence of the Sahara experience. For anyone traveling alone who wants to see the desert without a huge time commitment, this is perfect. Thank you, True Morocco Travel, for an unforgettable adventure!
We were trying to figure out how to get from Fes to Marrakech while also squeezing in a desert experience, and this 2-day tour was the perfect answer. It’s an intense two days, but it’s so incredibly worth it. Our driver, Ali, made the long journey feel like part of the adventure, stopping for us to see the monkeys in the cedar forest and pointing out the stunning views over the Ziz Valley. The main event, the desert, was pure magic. The camel ride at sunset, the surprisingly comfortable camp, and waking up to the sun rising over the dunes felt like a dream. The next day, you drive through totally different landscapes, including the High Atlas Mountains, and get dropped right at your new riad in Marrakech. It is the most efficient and spectacular way to travel between the two cities. If you’re short on time, don’t even think twice. Book this.
