Our first major stop is the incredible Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can walk among ancient mosaics, temples, and arches, imagining life in this once-thriving outpost of the Roman Empire. Next, we arrive in the grand city of Meknes, where we will explore its magnificent sites, including the monumental Bab Mansour gate. As the day draws to a close, we will arrive in Fes, the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco. We will bring you to your authentic riad, a perfect sanctuary within this mesmerizing city.
Today, your adventure turns south on a breathtaking journey of changing landscapes. We leave Fes and begin our climb into the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping first in Ifrane, a unique town known for its alpine-style architecture. Our journey continues to the ancient Cedars Forest, where you can stretch your legs and meet the playful Barbary Macaques.
After a lunch stop in Midelt, we will cross the scenic Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and descend toward the magnificent Ziz Valley, a stunning oasis of millions of palm trees.
