Our 3-day tour from Marrakech to Fes was unforgettable! The landscapes were stunning, but what made it special was Hassan. He treated us like family and shared so much about Berber culture. The desert camp was magical. Thank you, True Morocco Travel!
We booked this trip for the Sahara experience, and it was absolutely incredible—the camel ride, the music around the fire, the stars—it was everything we hoped for. But what truly surprised us was how much we loved the rest of the journey! The drive through the «Road of a Thousand Kasbahs» was fascinating for the whole family. Our kids especially loved exploring the Todra Gorge, walking along the river with those towering canyon walls on either side. The stop in Ifrane, the «Little Switzerland» of Morocco, was another unexpected highlight that showed us a completely different side of the country. Our guide, Said, was brilliant with the kids, keeping them engaged with stories and fun facts. This tour is a complete adventure that showcases the incredible variety of Morocco’s culture and geography. It’s a journey we’ll be talking about for years to come.
For any photographer, amateur or pro, this tour is an absolute dream. The diversity of landscapes you cover in five days is just staggering. I came home with thousands of photos. One hour you’re capturing the earthy red tones of a kasbah against a brilliant blue sky, the next it’s the dramatic, winding switchbacks of the Dades Gorge. Then, of course, there’s the Sahara. The endless, shifting dunes of Erg Chebbi at sunset and sunrise are a spectacle that photos can’t truly capture, but I certainly tried! Our driver, Ismail, was fantastic and seemed to know every single secret viewpoint along the way, pulling over safely so I could get the perfect shot. The journey from the desert to Fes offered yet another palette, with lush green palm groves in the Ziz Valley and the surprising cedar forests with Barbary apes. My camera roll is full, but the memories are even more vivid. Highly recommend!
We were worried a desert tour might feel like a race, but this 5-day itinerary was paced to perfection. We never felt rushed and had ample time to truly soak in the incredible sights. The extra day compared to shorter tours made all the difference, allowing for a more relaxed drive through the Dades Valley and more time to explore places like the magnificent Ait Benhaddou kasbah without watching the clock. Our guide, Hamid, was phenomenal. He was a fountain of knowledge but also knew when to just let us enjoy the quiet majesty of the landscapes. The long drives were broken up perfectly with interesting stops, great food, and comfortable, charming riads each night. Of course, the desert night was the ultimate highlight, but the journey there and onwards to Fes felt just as much a part of the adventure. If you want to see the best of southern Morocco without feeling exhausted, this is the one.
